Belias

Belias also known as the Gigas for his apperance as man and fiend joined as one, the cunning and intelligence of man fused with the power, strength and wild nature of the fiend. He was created originally as a guardian to the Holy Realm of Alexander but a flaw in his nature, the coupling of the fiend with the intelligence of man led to a ferrocity and desire for carnage and battle that was deemed unacceptable by the city of saints. When offered another position Belias refused, stating he would accept his birth right or nothing else, so he left the Pearled gates of Alexander behind and walked out into the world, wandering for many eons until Ultima came to speak with him.

Answering Ultima's call he joined the Lucavi in battle, fused with the destructive magic of the Supernova he was enhanced beyond what he had been and by Ultima's side he led the armies of fiends she summoned to join their cause against the great and good of the spirit world. In his arrogance he decimated the lands of Terra and the Spirit World, he shattered the Bright Waters and brought ruination to the crystal mountains of Rubidium. He was turned at the gates of the Abyss by the combined power of Hades and Carbuncle, the memories of all the dead standing in defiance to his advance. Filled by a consuming rage at being thwarted Belias stormed the Holy City, his rampage of carnage was brought to a halt at the Green Sward that lies beyond the walls of Alexander. In sight of the gates he was struck down by the Guardian who for one time and only one joined himself as one being, no longer guarding all the gates of Alexander at once he strode forward to meet Belias on the field of battle and struck him down.

Upon his defeat he was bound within a prison of Nethicite by the council of Bahamut, a wild raging spirit of war and lust for destruction and carnage he represents to some the destructive nature of the fiends and how they should be utilised by man for their own ends, a path that outside of the school of Blue Mages always leads to destruction and death. His prison has been consigned to the guardian ship of Carbuncle, lost deep within the crystallised realm of Rubidium, hidden from sight and sound by the ever vigilant memories who recall when Carbuncle's fair land of peace was reduced to a blasted wastland where once ruby mountains rose in splendour. Though the realm is long since restored they do not forget, for the memories held in the lord of the Ruby Lights domain are never lost.
